One of the few things Jimmy Carter did right was stopping the use of natural gas and oil in utility power plants. Obama and team don't know it but they are making a big mistake going back to burning natural gas for power.

Jimmy Carter told America the world was running out of oil, that they should turn down their thermostats in winter a wear a sweater.

funny there always seems to be plenty of oil when the price goes up.

I am reminded of the campaign by natural gas suppliers to get customers to switch from fuel oil, citing among other things that natural gas burns cleaner and doesn't stink or foul the ground like oil tanks do. Their biggest selling point was that natural gas was cheaper than oil and much cheaper than electric base-board heaters.

I knew that the price of natural gas was subject to the usual fluctuations of supply and demand. I already had natural gas heat, but I didn't want the whole country to switch because then there would be more demand and less supply, which (unless you're a Democrat) everyone knows equates to higher prices.

Now, if all electric power plants are forced to use natural gas, the supply will become stressed to the point of raising the price for residential natural gas to skyrocket.

What is it with Obama that the price for fuel must skyrocket? No fuel has escaped his manipulating grasp. His entire existance has been to be contrary to every normal economic force.

Why should a f'n President have the power to stop a power plant from burning whats most economical for its customers. No wonder this country is so screwed. With folks like you who needs a Republic.
