So, is growing government synonymous with increasing the number on welfare? Is it possible that the half or two-thirds of government employees that do nothing useful/needed are essentially people on welfare who have to go to the office daily to collect payment? Not every day, of course. They get many, many days off for good causes, such as their birthdays and for sick days when they are not sick, holidays we are not actually allowed to celebrate according to our religious beliefs, etc.
