Unfortunately, Spady's simply wrong on the issue of wolves and ecosystem health. Yes, there were more elk in earlier days... huge herds of starving, sick creatures that ruined the land by overgrazing. And while TC Tom is an idiot, he's right in that wolves generally pick out the sick, old, or otherwise unfit animals--unlike human hunters, who deliberately choose the healthiest (and I'm sure not going to start picking sick ones; leave that to the mutts). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysa5OBhXz-Q

Why Evil Disproves Atheism

Yawn. Yet another atheist who dodges an argument by explaining that nobody else understands atheism. You sound like the socialists explaining that Russia, Cuba, North Korea, China, etc., etc., etc., weren't ~real~ communism.

How about some "skeptics" in the Establishment worried that the guy is a flaming liberal?

Taxi companies don't suffer from these extra regulations--they WANT them. The more expensive it is to get into the business, the less they have to worry about competition. And the people who dedicated their lives to stopping "big business" smile and pat themselves on the back.

"The mainstream media immediately decided that the shooting was an attack on free speech." Maybe because it was a blatant attack on free speech? Charlie Hebdo was printing cartoons, not funding soldiers (and just how many French soldiers are in the Middle East anyway?). --The whistleblower went to prison while the torturers will not be prosecuted.-- Of course, he went to prison for blowing CIA agents' cover and lying to the CIA, but let's ignore those facts, since they get in the way of our "punished whistleblower" narrative. --Beginning with Afghanistan in the 1980s, the US and its allies have deliberately radicalized Muslim fighters in the hopes they would strictly fight those they are told to fight. We learned on 9/11 that sometimes they come back to fight us.-- It's claims like this that show just how unbalanced Mr. Paul truly is. The claim that we have deliberately radicalized muslims is just a lie. It's not a fuzzy area, it's not a misunderstanding, Mr. Paul is slandering our nation. --There are no guarantees of security, but only a policy of non-intervention can reduce the risk of another attack. -- Because that worked SO WELL last time we tried it. Just ask Mr. Chamberlain.

"We need to call it what it is – a savage, primitive, stupid perversion of Islam." I have to disagree. Nothing about what ISIS is doing is twisting or mocking islam. Indeed, they are following the tenets of islam, and the example and commandments of their prophet. ISIS is not a perversion of islam, which can be combatted by the true believers. ISIS is true islam.
One quick note: David didn't use a slingshot. A slingshot uses an elastic band to throw a rock. It can hurt someone, ~maybe~ kill them if you get them in the right place, but mostly it's for small game (and really, it's mostly for playing around. Even a good Wrist Rocket isn't liable to kill anyone). David used a sling. Slings deliver exponentially more force than throwing a stone by hand, and at the time they used stones about the size of baseballs (later, the Romans actually made lead sling-bullets, that hit their targets so hard they'd flatten on impact with armor or objects). There were units of slingers among the Israelites, and Roman generals have claimed that the sling is a better weapon than the bow. Indeed, a man with a specialized sling managed to beat the distance record for a longbow, and by a considerable margin. That's why 1 Samuel 17:49 tells us "he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead."
Stuart, I see exactly that rationalization from libertarians, constantly. Hell, Buchanan was famous for writing an article defending Hitler: http://buchanan.org/blog/did-hitler-want-war-2068
People were kind enough to take the video and pout it online. It was far, far more than "a dozen." And I don't remember any looting and burning during TEA Party protests....
