If all those who propose and support gun control really believe what they are saying, that these measures would prevent future mass murders why were their voices not heard this time last year? The argument could be made that by not pushing for these "life saving" measures last year, or the year before, or the year before, they are complicit in what occurred at Newtown. This is IF you believe it would actually have made a difference. Of course the answer is clear albeit too shameful to utter....striking up the chorus for gun control before the election was not politically expedient.

I would like to see a breakdown of the "homicides" included when Jim Moran says the rate in the US is 20 times higher than other Western nations. Would this include criminals killed in the commission of a crime? Would this include criminals killing other criminals? They spend more time on PolitiFact defining what a "Western" nation is than the details of what makes up the homicide stats.

A lot of nails hit on the head here...but then it was a target rich environment.
And I hope I am there to back you up!
I lived in Mira Mesa in the late 70s, glad to hear you guys staying strong out these in spite of the odds.
"Very Good" is an understatement my friend. Good point, most of the gummint is closed on weekends...
There were actually people cheering where I was...amazing.
I almost never frequent Chick-Fil-A but I did today and in Charleston (West Ashley), South Carolina there would not have been a bigger crowd if they were giving away food. I was astounded. It's somewhat ironic that those who begged and pleaded for "tolerance" for so long are now intolerant of the views of others. I support Chick-Fil-A and I support freedom of speech, and the tolerance of those with whom I disagree. I would support and patronize gay owned businesses but apparently tolerance is a one way street. At least it seems to be in this case.
