NYC - thats both sides to be honest. The fringes - both liberals and conservatives come across as arrogant, we are better, and know better than you. The left gets away with it more because the media, music, TV etc - tend to be liberals so its more mainstream. The only difference between a liberal and a conservative is what evil they feel your too stupid to save yourself from.

Henry - I dont want you to violate anything. I want the GOP to succeed - as i tend to agree with the right more than the left. But the further to the fringes you go on the political scale - left or right - the harder it is for the average person to back that side. Generally speaking, my experiences with liberals AND conservatives is they feel they are superior, and know more than you, and know whats better for you than you. Thats not endearing - and that saddens me to hear the GOP feel thats what they need MORE of instead of less.

Romney was a bafoon who was as believable as the Isuzu guy from the old commercials. He didnt win because he wasnt beleiveable, and rightfully so, was viewed as out of touch with the average Joe.

Thats what the Right said about the last election, and look how that turned out? The GOP needs to move towards the middle if they want to win. If "conservative all the way" actually worked - why did the Right get so beat up on the election? But hey, im an independant - doesnt matter to me - both sides are to far to the extreme for my tastes.

sadly, I gotta agree with you liberal. GOP needs to move more to the middle, or wallow forever as the minority party.
Actually, i would say the reason the GOP lost was because due to the primaries, and the need to find the most conservative guy - you turn off the majority of the country, who are in the middle - and dont want that. So the answer the right wants is to be MORE conservative? Guess you guys like being the minority. Let me know how the more conservative approach works for you. I voted for Romney, because i dont like Obama, but if the right goes further right, I just am done voting.
