I hope that people realize, that at this point- the president is looking better and better and the republicans are looking worse. Im an independant that tends to lean to the right. I want a centrist Govt. The republicans look very much like little kids right now with the "my way or the highway" attitude. If the country defaults, do you really thing that people are going to blame the President? Why do you think hes going on TV so much, its to get as much face time of him showing willingness to compromise and the Right not. This is going to undo all the gains that the Right has made last election if they continue with that approach. I dont want a 1 party govt, but thats what is going to happen at the Repubs expense.

pure and simple. You can say anything in rebuttal, but come the morning after election - if its Bachmann vs Obama - 4 more years of the same.

Rock on Cal - but you would have to admit, you are in the minority in that statement. Most independants wouldn't do the same.

Yes, Obama is a far far lefty, the difference between he and Bachmann is the young people, IE College students, love him. Bachmann wont get that love. I want nothing than to see Obama lose the election, i just think that if someone to far to the Right gets the nomination, your playing Russian Roulette with 6 bullets. The conservative purity test needs to be thrown out here, we need someone that can generate a larger appeal to the whole country. And if people whine that it isnt good enough, or they wouldnt vote for the more moderate, i simply have to say - it would be better than Obama - because i can guarentee - there are a large group in this country who want moderate, and wont vote for the conservative canidate, they will stay obama.

Bachmann may poll well with the far right, but guess what, thats a minority of the rest of the country, just like the far left. She wins the nomination, Republicans lose the election - pure and simple. She simply cannot get enough support from the rest of the country to win. Nuff said.

Sarah Palin? Never happen. She is loved by the far right, hated by the far left, and pretty much not supported by the middle. If she somehow (i doubt she will) ends up the nominee- President Obama is a 2 termer, no questions asked.

LOL @ Palin as President. Like that would happen, she doesn't have the support of the middle- nominate her = EASY 2nd term for Pres. Obama
YEY! That is FANTASTIC news! Lets do away with these thugs once and for all.

Being a centrist-idependant who leans to the right - i would love this. I would vote for Rudy, i wont vote for Palin. I would prolly vote for Romney, i dont think i would for Huckabee. I think that Rudy would be a MUCH better canidate for the country, whereas Palin would be a better canidate for conservatives, but not the country.
