All we have is tradition, and faith that tell us that the truths we were taught as children are the 'real' truths and those of the rest of the world are the 'false' truths. It would be arrogant in the extreme to believe that we have all the answers without consulting the ultimate authority, God himself. Only he can tell us what is true and what is not. We have never needed prophets more. Pray about it and He will tell you what is right.
