Let's just go ahead and let them raise all the taxes. Make sure we make a grand announcement that we are going to let the libs tax as much as they want. Make all those rich libs start to squirm. Make sure it is made known to every man and woman in america that republicans will no longer attempt to balance the budget or try to convince the democrats to cut spending. Make it known that we are so likeable that we are going to approve everything obama comes up with. Wouldn't that make them all pretty nervous? But then obama owns it. Not the conservatives, not Bush, not the headwinds or the sunami. The world will see obama's failure.

Exactly right! The Republicans and especially the Conservatives will be blamed for everything, so the thing to do is go along BUT pre-emptively disown it. Insist that this ISN'T our idea, but we're yielding to the election results; we think it's a bad idea, but we didn't get the nod in the election. Let Obama. . . , no; FORCE Obama to take a victory lap and crow about HIS achievement. (That shouldn't be hard.) Let him claim it, let him own it, let him take the blame when it blows up in his face.

Then in 2014 and 2016, we can say, "We told you so. Now, let us do it right."

And if you do that, what makes you think anybody will be listening in 2014 and 2016? With the "Fairness" Doctrine reinstated, talk radio heavily regulated, the Internet under close scrutiny, government subsidizing the Democrat-promoting networks, and so on, why do you imagine there will ever be another fair election in the US?

Laughing my rear end off, you are kidding aren't you.

Today we get to check in again on the economic and stock market forecast that I penned back on December 23rd, 2011.

Yeah. I know.

You all are used to my dazzling wit, political acumen, and my stylish turns of phrase. But really, I know quite a bit about finance too, even if I use my finance superpowers only on occasion and prefer to be the ringmaster here at Townhall Finance.

The slowdown that I predicted at that time has been a little less than my expectations. Right now GDP is coming in a little higher than I thought. But the...
