Mitt Romney, Big-Government Man

In theory, of course you are correct. We need to cut spending everywhere. However, this is a big ship to steer. If you turn too fast, a lot of people are going to fall off. Most people vote based on their own economic interest, and we are all going to have to sacrifice to get our spending as a nation back under control. Unfortunately most of us are too easily swayed by voting against someone who might take something away from us. We need politicians who don't plan to run for re-election but really have the best interests of our country at heart.

The ship we're on is called the Titanic and there's an iceburg dead ahead. I'd rather turn quickly and throw a few people off than maintain course and sink the whole thing. We're too close to disaster for a gentle course change.

We have had exactly 1 such candidate in my lifetime. Republicans said, "NO". So Ron Paul won't be elected.

Right Bonz, And that would be because the power brokers know that they can steer the sheeple like a new Ferrari.

yup its unfortunate but its reality
Fuzzy2 Wrote: Oct 10, 2012 2:28 PM
Do you know why you think it is reality bonziii?

1) it may not be reality.
2) because republicans won't vote for him.

In truth, Fuzzy, Paul didn't attract too many Dems to vote for him either.
Fuzzy2 Wrote: Oct 10, 2012 2:49 PM
I think he did rick. He attracted the college crowd too. I VITAL college crowd that republicans have now alienated again.

President Obama tanked in the last debate. Good.

Now maybe people will listen when Mitt Romney says things like, "The genius of America is the free enterprise system, and freedom, and the fact that people can go out there and start a business. ... The private market and individual responsibility always work best."

They do.

But then Romney responded to Obama by essentially saying: I want big government, too!

We who hope for smaller government as a way to expand liberty and create prosperity are disturbed by what we heard last week. The GOP candidate painted himself as a big...
