I think the writer made an error in the following sentence: "President Obama has been stumping for Christie in recent weeks..." I think he means Corzine? Can anyone confirm/deny?
Obviously this dingbat doesn't know that strategically, we WON Vietnam. It wasn't until Congress, and the shameful rhetoric of the late Ted Kennedy, that forced the US to abandon our allies, bug out, and leave MILLIONS of people to be slaughtered by the communists; the SAME communist mind-set that is overrunning our country. She, like all lefties, are completely clueless and live in their own little world of magical thinking - if we just believe and clap, Tink will live again.
Kevin, yes I did read the article which is why I think the printing of the picture along with the article was nothing but propaganda in the vein of Veitnam. I use Vietnam in this context because this is the era when "reporters" put themselves in judgement of American policy and plainly disagreed with it. Some were blatant. I recall one example in particular: the press showed plane after plane being shot down in Dien Bien Phu. It was reported as many US losses. When the truth came about, it turned out it was THE SAME PLANE being shown from DIFFERENT ANGLES and being reported as NEW HITS. I do not, nor have I ever, trusted the press since the Vietnam war. My objection to the picture of the Marine is this: Why this Marine? Why now?...
Thank you for your service. Your comments are harsh but TRUE. Our founders would be ashamed of how the "freedom of the press" is used to undermine freedom.
First, the AP could have just as easily written the text without adding the photo. Second, the point of Ms. Charen's statement regarding journalistic integrity is, I interprit, that if they need a photo to make their story then they aren't very good at their jobs, are they? It's obvious propaganda in the same vein the press used during Vietnam to sway public opinion to THEIR one sided, "make love not war" point of view. It is insulting to the American people, it is insulting to the freedom loving Iraqi's who fight alongside our soldiers, and it is insulting to Corporal Bernard who should have been given the respect he deserves. Finally, these soldiers who volunteer for two, three, or more tours to stand in our stead are NOT children...
There is no where to leave comments for the AP on their website, so I emailed them via their submission address: info@ap.org. following are my comments:

I just went to your site and can find no other way to contact AP regarding the photo of the DYING AMERICAN MARINE you felt it necessary to expose. I am not at all surprised at your cowardice in hiding any way for the public to register our deep and visceral disgust at your nonsensical excuse to exploit the death of a young American. To say that the mainstream press has lost all credibility is to give you too much credit for being relevant. You did the same thing during the Vietnam War - YOU decided how it was going to be and YOU decided to produce propaganda supporting only...
What can be said except that the AP has sold it's soul to the far left and their anti-America agenda. Badly done, AP.
