Too Expensive to Die

according to the government your money is never yours! what i say is "when is it my money?" i believe in paying taxes on income while a person is alive and earning it. what is left after the tax has been paid, and sometimes even twice, is rightfully owned by that person. it should be his to do with exactly what he wants to do with it, it is his, 100% his, and no one has any claim on this money, actually not even his children if he chooses to give it to his cat! but our gov't has the chutzpah to say now that you are dead most of it belongs to us and we want to confiscate it, if not all of it then almost two thirds! this is so unjust, but i do not see a the needed discussion to completely eliminate this confiscatory tax. i am glad that Ms.

You know what happens to all the Social Security payments you make over a lifetime, but die before you're old enough to collect it? It's gone. Now the liberals want to nationalize all the private retirement accounts in America. Any guess what happens to the balance if you die before you retire? I'm betting the lib-tards will treat it the same way they do Social Security. It'll disappear.

ms. brittany raised this issue. it deserves much attention. i am told that a little country like israel does not have an estate tax, and god knows it is much poorer that then USA. let's learn from it.

Learning is not what the current electorate is very good at, I'm afraid. Unless, that is, it's the hard way.

The end is near.  Some kind of decision will be made on the fiscal cliff mess but it will more than likely be nothing substantial.  Knowing Congress, it will be a shot of morphine to ease our pain as we continue to be on death watch.

Speaking of death watch; no one other than financial gurus and geeks are talking about the impending rise in the estate tax.  Is no one paying attention to this blatant theft of savings and assets that have already been taxed once?

If nothing is done, on January 1, 2013...
