Since the vietnam war, I have never saluted the flag, nor do I sing the national anthem. I find them offensive. Being an "American" has nothing to do with capitalizing words (in Italian, many words we would capitalize in English are not capitalized, so why not borrow that tradition), nor does it have a darn thing to do with pledging or singing.

You folks don't follow the constitution (let alone know what is in it...i.e. 'life, liberty, happiness' not there), so I don't follow little stupid traditions.

no one dies, no one is maimed. My dad was a doctor. He never got sued. But when doctors made mistakes in the 'old days', the injured patient usually got the shaft. Doctors didn't then, and rarely do now, police themselves very well.

If doctors had better reps, juries wouldn't punish them with verdicts.
another ignorant ranter.

Demi is actually married to a libertarian, and Bruce Willis is more on the right than left. But don't let facts get in the way. And how dare you suggest who anyone should be able to marry. Men have been marrying younger for centuries...Bob Dole, Mitch McConnell come to mind.

Celebs have free speech rights too. But for some reason, you on the right are insecure about your points of view.

are adults now. What we listened to in the day is hardly relevant to what I do now. I don't listen to Rush now. I haven't listened to Rush since we took our last US vacation, which was to Aspen when my 27 year old was 13. Our last four vacations have been overseas.

Keith, you are exemplary of the pond scum who joins our military. You are not educated. You would have been a nazi soldier, following orders. You respect the office and the man. You are a disgrace to what you think america is.

Now Maine, you and others call me a 'liar'. So funny, given that the people you follow lie constantly about our president and you follow in line. Lies about my age (and gosh, I listened to Rush in 1995, my bad) are nothing...
I heard a CBS commentary on this latest nuttiness. We need to encourage these rightwingers to keep talking. They preach that we should listen to the 'majority' in CA when they take away gay rights, but they don't have to accept the presidential election vote, right? LOL.

They want all to be patriotic and honor our traditions, but they want to teach their children to dishonor the president, mainly because they thought that a black man would never be president. Their heads burst every time they see him.

For the extremes in this country, totally alternative universes.
are you left or right? I'm left. I think you have jumped off some cliff here.
he was on the same team with lying Ortiz and Ramirez. That entire victory is tainted.
he's covered by medicare. And the old dude punched the other guy straight in the face. In conservative-world, he'd be entitled to shoot the old guy in self-defense. We on the left have no guns, so we bite. Seems fair to me.
"Both Presidents George Bush and Ronald Reagan both gave speeches aimed specifically at students that were nationally televised. In 1989, Bush delivered a televised anti-drug speech, and Reagan's 1986 commencement speech and Q&A session was "beamed over public television into 171 school districts," according to the L.A. Times.

It's worth noting that schools are, encouraged, not required, to air the speech. The Houston Chronicle reports that one Dallas school district is leaving the decision to individual teachers. Susan Dacus, spokeswoman for the Wylie school district, says parents who don't want their children to see it can opt out.

In an ironic twist, one Missouri school won't be airing the speech because of a lack of...
