Armed security at schools is a good starting point, but not a silver bullet to stop these school massacres. Local and state governments, and every school district should be given the freedom to develop a security plan that works best for their schools without another unfunded Federal mandate. Local parents have the most at risk, so should be given the maximum opportunity to keeping their children safe. DC politicians only are concerned about garnering votes for the next election and the power that ensues. Note how ineffective Federal gun control laws have been since the 1999 Columbine massacre, the Brady Bill of 1986, etc.
