Regarding the Chicago homicides, by the numbers:
Victims and offenders
• 76% of victims were African American (77.4% of offenders were),
• 18.3% were Hispanic (17.3% of offenders), and
• 5.6% were white (5.3% of offenders).
Murder victimization rate was:
• African American 34 per 100,000;
• Hispanic rate was 11 per 100,000, and the
• white rate 3 per 100,000.
In 2012, Chicago saw more than 500 murders as a city with some of the toughest gun control measures in the country and 2013 is already off to a horrible start. We're only five days into the New Year and the Windy City has seen five murders. One horrific murder was of a business owner and family man who ran from his attackers. He was shot in the back and killed.

Lot of blacks in the South. Not as much murder as in Detroit and Chicago, Oakland, and Washington DC.
