How is this legal, exactly? To whom are they actually giving money? Campaign finance law is insane, and hopelessly unConstitutional. As an individual who likes one candidate but thinks the parties stink, I am limited to $2500 per candidate per election. But in this fundraiser, fat cats are effectively giving $100,000 apiece to Obama?

"How is this legal, exactly?"

Since when has this president EVER cared for the law?

Agreed, but it's not just this president we're talking about. This bad law came from elsewhere, and the party establishments on both sides of the aisle embrace it's crooked effect.

BTW, here are the limits. Read them for yourselves.

Tonight night, shortly after declaring his support for gay marriage, President Obama will attend a swanky fundraiser hosted by Hollywood mega-celebrity George Clooney. The amout team Obama will rake in the from the event? $15 million.

The campaign raffled two tickets to join Clooney and Obama at the movie star's Los Angeles home for a dinner on Thursday. The campaign said last week that it had raked in $6 million by selling tickets for 150 guests, suggesting the raffle earned the campaign $9 million.
