Why Non-Torture is More Honorable Than Assassination

"Because it is not torture, we have used it in the training of our own forward serving military men and women in SERE school." This is idiocy. One might call it despicable lying, but I think the idiot who wrote it actually believes it. Here's the thing: nobody in our own training BELIEVES he is in enemy hands. The military will tell you themselves that one of the most important things for a soldier, and for an army, is BELIEF. The army that BELIEVES is worth 10 times its same force without that believing. The only way to truly simulate waterboarding, as has been done by the US military, is for the waterboarded to believe he is in enemy hands. Anyone on any training knows HE WON'T be horribly disfigured, HE WILL BE LOOKED...

AFTER medically, the suffering WILL END and will end WELL, he won't be tortured to death, etc.

So kid yourself all you like about the experience of our soldiers in SERE training. We also tear-gas everyone in Basic. And like those in SERE training, they know it will suck and they also know it will end well, without any real harm.

Real torture is based on the exact OPPOSITE of those beliefs.

efficient but not more moral than water-boarding... because of the loss of information that gets flamed with the death...

Don't you ever think?

Yes, I think fequently, and in a far more advanced manner than you ever will. Attacking enemies in the field is a matter of well-settled morality; tortuing captives is for savage, mouthbreather morons like you. There is no information lost; only American lives saved.

God, you're a p huck ing IDIOT.

Astoundingly we have seen the media turn into hypocrites in recent days.

Shock of shocks... how can it be?

But when the President that an overwhelming majority of media members voted for, was running for President, they parroted his message of compassion, and American humility, and the need for us to talk to our enemies instead of torturing them.

Being in the solid minority of media members who held that we either kill the guys who are trying to kill us, or at the very least, extract information about when they are next going to try to kill us, I...
