Democrat: party of big government. GOP: the other party of big government. So, what's the solution?

Choose the party that wants less big government than the other.

LOL, that's what got us in this mess. We need a real party of small governmennt. When the GOP had all three houses in 2000, they didn't shrink government. That should be pretty compelling to all honest thinkers. The GOP is just another RIVAL party of big-government. Sadly, they manage to convince a lot of small-government voters to fall for their BS marketing.

cut spending, freebies need to be cut by 50% and the lower 47% pay thier fair share of payroll taxes. You need to stop drinking obama kool-aid.

Don, please explain what Obama kool-aid you think I am drinking. Obama is a freaking disaster. He's blatantly anti-Constitution and is tyranny personified.

Problem is, the GOP establishment does almost all the same things he does, with only a few exceptions for some of their cronies. But most of the GOP cronies are the exact same ones that Obama and the Democrats serve. At our expense.

You say to "cut spending" and I agree completely. The federal govt should be cut to one tenth of its current size. Neither major party does anything but make it bigger, however.

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner has had a rough few days.  Late last week, Sen. Mitch McConnell laughed in his face when he presented President Obama's breathtaking fiscal cliff "deal" -- which raises taxes by $1.6 trillion, abolishes the debt limit (!), spends tens of billions on a new stimulus (!!), and offers no specific or guaranteed spending reductions to speak of.  Then Geithner appeared on Fox News Sunday to defend the proposal, and things went...not so well.  When host Chris Wallace pilloried his claim of illusory "savings" on war spending, Geithner was flummoxed (via
