How does anyone KNOW he is that? The reason for trials is to find out the truth, rather than having cops running around just killing "suspects."

Or as Solzhenitsyn put it or worlds to that effect, "armored piercing rounds haven't been invented yet to penetrate iron heads."

Emile, you are as much of a traitor to the American ideal than any member of al qaeda. We have a Constitution that says OUR government will not act like Hitler's Germany or Stalin's Russia. Anyone who is willing to throw that Constitution out is as much a traitor as someone who joins al qaeda.

We should strip people of their citizenship for exercising first amendment right to free speech? The first amendment was specifically made to protect unpopular speech. That is the point of the amendment. If they are trying to attack our country or are attacking our country they should be prosecuted, absoutely. But that is not what we are talking about. We are talking about people critizing our government. I don't know about you, but I do that everyday and twice on Sunday. Speech, no matter how much you disagree with it is not a reason to boot them out the country, or kill them.

Criticize the government when it behaves horribly, be branded a traitor. Real Banana-Republic stuff.

Further, who says some guy on the street who gets blown up by a missile (with a bunch of bystanders) actually made the prounouncement you claim he did?

They are not just suspects, the ones who shout out hatred for the US regardless of the fact they were born here. Why join AlQueda terrorists instead of the Marines. even then, you can't trust them, they are Muslims first and Americans or Egyptians second.

I was talking about those American-born radical jihadist muslims who say they hate the Big Satan, meaning the country they were born in. They should be stripped of their citizenship for such traitorous actions at least.

This is why the drone program is so contraversial. We really don't know everybody that we kill when the drone strikes, thus the collateral damage.

Exactly. Killing people for being a suspect turns the concept of Justice on its head.
"When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal."

So said Richard Nixon in his interviews with David Frost. Nixon was talking about wiretaps and surreptitious entries to protect lives and safeguard national security in a violent and anarchic war decade.

The Nixon haters pronounced themselves morally sickened.

Fast forward to our new century. For, since 9/11, we have heard rather more extravagant claims by American presidents.

Under George W. Bush, it was presidential authority to waterboard, torture, rendition and hold enemy aliens in indefinite detention at Guantanamo.

Under Barack Obama, we don't have a Nixon "enemies list"...
