True. However conservatives don't have the major propaganda outlets that the left does (ABC,CBS,NBC,CNN, MSNBC, etc.) Also, the left has been uniquely successful in making McCarthy a reviled figure, even though he was right. FDR is still a figure for adoration for the left, even though his misguided policies set us on the road where we now find ourselves and extended the depression by 10 years. Many see no insult in being compared to FDR, whereas being compared to McCarthy is definitely an intimidation tactic
