Actually, you should read some of his books so that you will understand his viewpoint. He clearly understands the constitutional limits of the federal government and outlines his views in an accessible and lucid manner. His votes also back up his constitutional principles.

He'll probably endorse Bachman, the former tax attorney paid by the IRS to harass productive citizens who when she had to quit working to raise her kids got the state to pay her for raising other people's kids as well and then decided to run for state legislature since, what the heck, she knows all about running other people's lives, so why not get the state to pay her for it, then when she heard about that Federal Congressional pension plan, she had to get a piece of that as well! Whatever are you talking about? Ron Paul is the only conservative in the race! The overwhelmingly vast majority of Republicans are not conservative at all since they support all manner of big government programs. Republican candidates for office call themselves conservative but then continually use their fear mongering buzzwords SPECIFICALLY to appeal to irrational and uneducated mobs in order to attain power. To name a few "Islamofacism", gay marriage, illegal immigration, etc etc. Every single one of these so-called problems is the result of Big Government and could be eliminated as a campaign issue entirely if government were scaled back considerably. Christ didn't kill anyone even as they murdered him. Real Christians follow Christ. "For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul?" On a national level, the question is from whom does the government obtain its powers? From the governed? Can the governed assign to the government powers that it does not have? Can I kill you for whatever reason? If I do not have this power, how can I assign it to someone else?

I totally agree that kids could get really messed up being raised by gay parents, but so far messing up your kids is not a crime and happens all the time in hetero families, single parent families, foster familes etc. I do not believe there is a sure fire way to prevent some kids getting messed up by their parents
