Finally, I find someone asking the question I've been asking on the internet and telephone for days: where is the black press on this murder case? I've tweeted and Facebooked several national black media outlets including Jet, Ebony and Essence magazines and local newspapers including the Michigan Chronicle and the Michigan Citizen about this horrendous scandal. Can you believe there's been absolutely no response from any of them, save an assurance from an assistant editor at the Citizen that she'd forwarded my complaint to her senior editor? Black Americans are in denial, and they're in for a rude awakening.

I left a high-flying career to raise kids and haven't regretted it for one second. There's no doubt in my mind that my now-adult children ---- though far from perfect, are happier, more well-adjusted individuals because I stayed home with them in their formative years. More significantly, I've also come to the conclusion that being a mechanical engineer was not my true calling anyway, as I'd rather write and play the piano. The men can have it.
