The Census and the Constitution

We are not drones; we are your neighbors and friends trying to do a job in the most efficient and professional manner we can. So, please, be nice to us. You may decline to answer our questions and we won't be offended. In fact some of us declined to complete our forms for the same reasons. To objectify the census enumerator, is counter productive. We will never win support for our cause by alienating people, and census enumerators are people too.

Dr. Williams is a brilliant man and nowhere in his article did I detect anything that advocated the hostility I read in this thread.

The cost of the census would be dramatically reduced if everyone would voluntarily provide all of the information they choose to disclose...
