Milt37, Don't mind the hicks. Not all of us in the midwest drag our knuckles around. My wife and I really miss California in a few ways: her awesome family in San Luis Obispo, having Fry's and Trader Joe's stores nearby, and the excellent weather. And yet, we love being upper-middle class in Oklahoma on the same income that would be barely above poverty in Cali. Aerospace engineer? It's too bad you couldn't find anything in Houston. Oh well.

As the Golden State continues to transition into Greece-on-the-Pacific, this election year should have been an opportunity for its citizens to try to stop the madness. But it hasn’t worked out that way. Instead, this year Californians have embraced the model of Kevin Bacon in Animal House, figuratively assuming the position and repeating “Thank you, sir, may I have another?”
