I'm a Christian and I don't believe in New Earth Creationism. I believe that spawned out of a defensive posture of trying to prove science confirms GOD. I believe that science, logic, and good philosophy and ethics points to GOD of the Bible being our creator, no matter how old the Earth is. The new earth vs old earth debate is irrelevant.

jsalome-"the new earth vs old earth debate is irrelevant"-WELL SAID! I suspect we may be dealing in simile(s) and/or other "Interpretations" of much of Biblical notations. All I know for sure is, that in driving back to WV from Fairfax Co VA Friday eve, last, in between Clouds, Showers and the most Gorgeous Sunset I've been privileged to observe in years, it became obvious to me that my local EX-Man was NOT in charge of that operation!

But it happens that Genesis is exactly right. Time depends on where you are measuring. There is no single "time" for the age of the universe. If you are on earth looking backwards in time, you measure 15 billion years or so. If you are God, describing the age of the universe looking forward from the Big Bang, you will measure 6 days. Science, thousands of earth years after Genesis was written, has provided the tools that confirm the Biblical story. Just do the math or talk to your local physics professor.

The Donjindra types who despise Christians try and use the new earth theory as an excuse to paint all with the same broad brush.

Christians have a reasoned belief system ,atheists rely on pure faith in nothing backed up by intellectual narcissism.

"The Donjindra types who despise Christians"

I've told you many times I don't despise Christians. Most of my family are Christians and I certainly don't despise them.

"try and use the new earth theory as an excuse to paint all with the same broad brush."

I don't do that and you should know it. If you've forgotten, consider this a reminder.

"atheists rely on pure faith in nothing backed up by intellectual narcissism."

Now look at who is painting with a broad stroke!

Your bigotry to atheists is vile.

Your ignorance speaks volumes.

Let the Blood Games continue.

Only weeks after election 2012 and years before election 2016, in a routine interview, a glossy pop magazine popped Florida Senator Marco Rubio with an oddball question: How old do you think the earth is? Rubio responded a bit clumsily and noncommittally. Smelling blood and opportunity, the wolf pack bared fangs and chased.

Their game is either to force Rubio to affirm a personal belief the earth is 4.5 billion years old—disturbing some of his religious supporters--or to mock and stigmatize him and others who could harbor any delusional...
