There already exists a pay scale for Govt employees, all the way up to the President. It shouldn't matter if your job is running Fannie/Freddie, or sweeping out the office at night. The same should apply to any company that sells itself to the Govt. Can you imagine the squeals from the UAW, if they were forced from the trough, and placed on the GS system? That being said, I see no justification whatsoever for Govt subsidies of any kind. I just re-read Art 1, Sec. 8 of the Constitution to make sure, and there is nothing there which authorizes the Govt to hand out money to private corporations, or farmers, nor is there any authority to function as an investment bank.

Massachusetts is Obsolete

If the Russians could overthrow the Soviet Union, what does it say about the people of Massachusetts that they sill have a Democrat controlled state? From the late and unlamented Ted Kennedy, to Deval Patrick, John Kerry, Barney Frank, et al. The government of Massachusetts has been a repudiation of the founders and their vision. All people get the government they deserve. So the people need to show that they deserve better, by voting out the corrupt leadership they now have

Dr Adams, you have a gift for explaining what should be obvious in a thought provoking way. Keep up the good work Sir.

In what way is conception due to rape different from conception due to failure of Birth control? They're equally unwanted pregnancies. From what I've read about PTSD, I don't think the trauma of rape will be relieved just by aborting a living human being. Or are you saying that a rape victim who does Not become pregnant has suffered less than one who does? Yes, there are discomforts and pains associated with pregnancy. But they occur whether the pregnancy is welcome, or not.
"Why isn't the government giving immunity to Edith?" Because the govt is as corrupt as Corzine! Corzine is a Dem, and a F.O.B.; Holder & Co. will not go after him until there is a threat to BHO, then under the bus he goes.

California,The "Failed State"

It is axiomatic that people get the government they deserve. As long as the voters in California continue to elect Democrats, nothing will change, except to get worse. In his first two terms as Governor, Jerry Brown was roundly reviled as "Gov. Moonbeam" for his out of left field ideas; yet here he is again as Governor. San Francisco and Berkeley routinely astound the rest of the nation with their idiocies. Hell, Berzerkly has a "Peace and Justice" Commision.
I may be ill educated in finance and economics; but your solution: " Don’t try to create new jobs, just bring back the ones we’ve lost." has all the earmarks of "Bell the cat". While it sounds good in theory, the details of its implementation are sorely lacking. What exactly do you mean by: "I don’t disagree that overseas labor is cheap, but if the financial incentives were SPECIFIC TO EACH JOB BROUGHT BACK, enough to affect thedifferential, I would think the choice would be easy." If I can't understand this, how do you expect that poseur Obama to understand it?
Every-time this Moron steps up to a microphone, I get spooked! Jan 2013 can't get here fast enough.

Treating Children As Adults

I see this decision as exactly the opposite of Mr Shapiro's interpretation. Far from empowering parents, California's law gave them a way to shirk their responsibility by placing it on the retailer. As was pointed out by commenter Stuart Koehl below: what prepubescent kid has the income to afford one of these games? Another point which Mr Shapiro ignores, is that Game makers/sellers are not part of a conspiracy to deprave youth. They are there to make money. If these games didn't sell, they wouldn't be made. SCOTUS and Scalia basically said to parents: "Do your job, don't foist it off on the nanny-state." I wouldn't want a child of mine playing these games, but you might not like it if I made decisions for your children.

Just another skirmish in the "reconquista" of Mexifornia. Unless we get serious, and round up and deport the illegals, it wil only get worse.
