The DV laws were meant for good and have gone way out of whack. I have a freind whose daughter kicked him, first time problem, someone called the cops, without my friends pemission, without his testamony a protection order was put in place, now father and daughter can not see each other for two years. He has to hire an attorney to squash a order to protect him against his child that wasn't wanted or needed. Sick and evil.

There was a case just this year where Child "Protective" Services kidnapped a child - because they were "obese".

We have these anonymous reporting laws - required for medical people, teachers, etc. What we need is probably State constitutional amendments that supercede these to restrict the allowable definition of "abuse" - and to strip anonymity away if a case is determined to have no merit, and is actually a way to attack someone through their spouse and/or children.
A very public marital melodrama is now playing in San Francisco. It shows the idiocy of domestic violence laws and the extremism of the feminists whose ideology paints men as innate batterers and women as victims of the patriarchy.

The target of their current campaign is the elected Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi. After six months of demeaning publicity and headlines such as "Sheriff arrested for wife beating," last week the city's Ethics Commission voted 4 to 1 against him. He has been suspended without pay and may soon be fired.

The saga isn't over yet, but the story is so bizarre that it...
