I don't know if the violence in media started with the movie "The Godfather", but I remember being wholly disgusted and insulted by the horse head scene. It changed my view on that kind of influence coming from one of our favorite national pastimes... going to the movies. I had to teach my children that the cameras and crew were there, filming that scene, and it was "only a movie". How sad to try and make excuses for the insanity that was being created in more and bigger FX with screens that enfolded us! Then the small screen started the same bent, in even more violent input. No wonder we are all brainwashed to see violence as "normal". .... until it happens to your own children. My heart is broken for those dear children and the parents.
