AS a new poster here I have learned a lot from you all. Hal especially entertains me. So Hal you make a point in reply #32 that secession is not allowed by the Constitution and the Southern States were traiters. Putting the Civil War aside for a moment, I would like to dispute your first point. The Constitution is certainly the highest law in the land. However, there is a law that is higher, and that is the Law of Nature which is hinted at in our Declaration of Independence. Hence the statement:

"whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in...
