In response to:

Marco Rubio: A Hispanic Reagan?

Rubio is correct, Conservatism is larger than the Republican Brand. Conservatism is something that used to be a platform of the Republican Party but was replaced with Neo-Conservatism. The Republican Party would do well to understand what Neo-Conservatism is and be rid of it and to then re-embrace the platform of Conservatism. Marco Rubio should also explain that he is Not Eligible to be President or VP because he is not a Natural Born Citizen. Both parent MUST be US Citizens when a child is born to transmit Natural Born Citizenship to that child.

Senator Rubio was born in Miami, Florida in 1971 to parents who themselves became naturalized citizens 4 years later (given the wait time required for US citizenship in those days, they could only have been of legal alien status). How do you reconsile your statement that he cannot be President or VP? Seems that he is entirely qualified by US law to run for and be elected to become the President of the United States.

Time to go back and reread your US Constitution.

According to your own statement, Rubio's parents were not capable of passing Natural Born Citizen of the US status until 4 years after Marco was born. There is a difference between a natural born citizen and a citizen. It has to do with natural law, a person naturally takes on the citizenship of their parents. Natural Born Citizen of the US status means that BOTH parents were US citizens at the time of the child's birth. Merely being born in the US does not give a person Natural Born status.
Time for you to reasearch what Natural Born actually means and then you need to go reread your US Constitution. Don't get side-tracked on all the misinformation websites. There are very good reasons why the Natural Born clause is in the US Constitution.

Rubio is only a 14th Amendment citizen. Born in the United States. Just as BO is a 14th Amendment citizen (if he was born in Hawaii) or a dual citizen because British Law gave him British citizenship by his father.
Neither is a natural born Citizen according to Vattel in his Law of Nations which was the ruling in the 1700s.

If it's ok for Obama to be considered eligible by the will of the people, why not Rubio? The door is open now.

Really!? Drop your pom-poms and think about that for a minute, cheerleader.

IT's not OK for Obama, he is not eligible either, there have been many lawsuits challenging his eligibility and judges are patently ignoring the law every time.

Conservatives have been dreaming that a political reincarnation of Ronald Reagan would lead them to an electoral promised land. I never put my faith in such a possibility, because the past is a dangerous place in which to live. Reagan never lived in the past, though he learned from it.

Yet among the contemporary political figures that closely represent the substance and style that made Ronald Reagan who he was is Senator Marco Rubio, Florida Republican.

At a fundraising event for Iowa Governor Terry Branstad last Saturday, Rubio touched all the Reagan bases and focused on solutions, not just...
