4 More Years = Pammie (???)
In fiscal year FY 2008, total government spending on means-tested welfare or aid to the poor amounted to $714 billion. This high level of welfare spending was the result of steady permanent growth in welfare spending over several decades rather than a short-term response to temporary economic conditions.

Of the $714 billion in welfare spending, $522 billion (73%) was federal expenditures, and $192 billion (27%) was state government funds. Nearly all state government welfare expenditures are required matching contributions to federal welfare programs. These contributions could be considered a "welfare tax" that the federal government imposes on the states. By Ignoring these matching state payments into the federal welfare system,...
I am not an advocate of any system nor am I a phucking Republican. As for Singapore, I have long operated under its system. I pay cash for healthcare. Oh, and don't worry about me ever running out of funds. That is impossible.

Reagan and Bush did not push for nationalized healthcare because the country obviously did not want it. Progressives have been trying to nationalize healthcare for a century. If Americans had wanted it, it would have become the law of the land long ago.

Please cite one example where the Federal government has ever mandated that Americans purchase a product from private corporations under proscribed terms and conditions at a price set in Washington.

Should I help you? There is not one...
In many jurisdictions, if you kill a pregnant woman, you will be charged with two counts of murder or 1 count of murder and 1 count of fetal homicide.

Most jurisdictions in the US define murder as the unlawful taking of HUMAN LIFE or a HUMAN BEING. A minority say that it is the unlawful taking of a PERSON without legal justification. We see the same "human life" usage in manslaughter, gross negligence, etc.
Something similar happened in Western attitudes. Nazi war criminals are reviled; their Soviet counterparts are honoured veterans to this day. Snore and his sponsors in the European Parliament have produced a sharply provocative work. Its tone, technique and composition may be open to criticism. But those who want to ban it should try refuting it first."

"Work sets you free" - Slogan of Nazism

"Work is an honor" - Slogan of Soviet Socialism

Tell that to Scott Peterson.

You really need to go on a diet and stop smoking. Try eating salmon and broccoli everyday.
According to Obama's budget projections, federal and state welfare spending will total $10.3 trillion over the next 10 years (FY 2009 to FY 2018). This spending will equal $250,000 for each person currently living in poverty in the U.S., or $1 million for a poor family of four.

Over the next decade, federal spending will equal $7.5 trillion, while state spending will reach $2.8 trillion. These figures do not include any of the increases in health care expenditure currently being debated in Congress.

In the years ahead, average annual welfare spending will be roughly twice the spending levels under Clinton after adjusting for inflation. Total means-tested spending is likely to average roughly 6% of GDP for the next...
"Nothing we do in this country is solvent. Our war machine isn't solvent. That doesn't stop you war lovers from pushing more troops all over the world."

First of all, our troops should be home. Secondly, why is Obama escalating the war in Afghanistan, a tribal region that has never been a country in any real sense of the word. Third, let's look at the money spent on wars, including the 40+ year social engineering project...The War on Poverty...

The US has spent $6.1tn on all wars, in 2008 dollars.

The national debt increased by $1.7 trillion during the 8 years of Reagan.

The national debt increased by $1.4 trillion during the 4 years of Bush I.

The national debt increased by $1.54 trillion during the...
