That's because businesses don't want to pay high wages to dumb kids fresh out of school. If they're going to be forced to pay higher wages then they will hire someone with some job skills and that's usually someone who is older and had some experience out in the world. That is what raising the minimum wage does, it drives lower skilled workers out of the job market because business owners can't justify paying them what the government demands.

According to the U.S. Treasury, U.S. spending on foreign aid has not only skyrocketed, it also trumps the amount spent on U.S. border security. CNS News has the details:

From fiscal 2008 to fiscal 2011, according to the U.S. Treasury, the federal government increased spending on foreign aid by 80 percent and, in fiscal 2011, spent 76 percent more on foreign aid than it did securing the borders of the United States.
