That is what abortion and homosexuality have in common. It is how the Left (Democrats) can endorse and promote abortion "rights" and homosexual "rights" to civil marriage. JustMC finds it necessary to lie (I'm not going to sugarcoat it by calling it hyperbole) about this issue. He uses the phrase "threat of violence" to describe government authority with regard to enforcement of civil marriage laws. This is typical of the dishonest propaganda that the left uses to support their intellectually and morally corrupt beliefs. It would be reasonable to conclude from JustMC's comment that convicting someone of breaking the law and imposing a fine on them is equivalent to beating that person with a truncheon.

So, you're saying that State governments cannot prevent a known schizophrenic from buying or possessing a firearm? I'm not 100 percent positive, but I'm pretty sure that is part of what current background checks, for firearm permits, are about.
