When was the last time a "tea party" conservative won a statewide election in Illinois...or any conservative? Just like Mr. Brown in Massachusetts is pro-choice and likely moderate on some issues. In any case, Kirk won the primary and if conservatives stay home in disgust, it will help the democrats hold onto the Senate. Sometimes you don't have the ideal choice to make.

The lesson from NY-23 is a divided repub party doesn't win elections. The conservative base and so-called RINO's are going to have to hold their noses and get along...or lose more elections. Newt was correct in his political analysis.
her brain and she didn't answer the question.
Arlen switches parties to avoid a tough primary and still goes down. And for sure, Obama threw him under the bus. At least Arlen has something in common with the Rev. Wright...both thrown under by Obama as soon as they were no longer needed.

Illinois. A vote for Kirk is a vote for McConnell as Majority Leader, which is a much better result than having Mr. Durbin as the Majority Leader (since Reid is a sinking ship). The republicans are still playing catch up and need victories until there is a level playing field.

He may have run to the right of Burns. We'll see what he does when he gets to DC and Pelosi orders him to vote down the party line on the issues. He will snap a salute to Nancy and obey his orders. Frankly, all these pols do it, you can't trust what they say during the campaign.
Afghanistan? Wasn't she involved in that messy talboid stuff with a married guy in Iraq. And Harry Smith is perhaps the #1 airhead on morning TV. He simply spews forth the liberal talking point for the day.
