For example, which is worse: the absence of Social Security and Medicare coverage for the aged who made the decision to live beyond their means when they were still capable of earning a living, i.e., for those who failed to save and unwittingly contributed to one source of our nation's current economic debacle, or a country so financially strapped as to be unable to defend its citizens and resources from ever-present foreign enemies?
