Just got back from purchasing whatever Hostess products I could find in my area. Had to purchase at gas stations because the grocery store shelves have been stripped-bare. I talked with a Hostess driver at a 7-11. He said that his union (which he was forced to join) made a deal to keep the company afloat only to be stabbed in the back by the Baker's union. Super nice guy. Super PO'd. I shook his hand and wished him the best of luck.

Labor Unions have officially killed off the Twinkie. The company that makes the yummy treat announced today they will start to downsize operations (a.k.a. fire people) as a result of a long battle with union workers.

Hostess Brands Inc., the bankrupt maker of Twinkies and Wonder Bread, said it had sought court permission to go out of business after failing to get wage and benefit cuts from thousands of its striking bakery workers.
