That's what my folks are doing. Buying and storing food, clothing, cars and trucks, etc. Anything that can be traded or used in the future they are buying and storing. Another option is to spend your nest egg helping your kids double-up on their mortgage payments. If they voted for Obama, tell them why they won't get squat then take that trip to Alaska or some other Red State.
