An Open Letter to Charles Johnson

For a while now, Johnson has been attacking Judeo-Christianity, which is the basis for conservatism and the antidote to liberalism. Hardly surprising, as Margaret Thatcher said:

“I think back to many discussions in my early life when we all agreed that if you try to take the fruits of Christianity without its roots, the fruits will wither. And they will not come again unless you nurture the roots.”

The Dede Scozzofava disgrace should be a wake-up call to the RINOs in the RNC that conservatives won't tolerate any more liberals. Time to throw out gutless RINO senators who keep on bringing kid gloves to a gunfight.

"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." John 7:24.

Why don't we hear more about this saying of Jesus from wishy-washy tolerant types. Jesus prohibited only *hypocritical* judgments, as should be clear from "with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged ... You hypocrite...

This is not to commend Robertson. The Luke 13 and John 9 passsages show that disasters can't always be correlated to personal wickeness.

Science: Theists Need Not Apply

jono64a Wrote: Jul 22, 2009 12:12 AM
It doesn’t matter that Collins’s theology is incoherent, incompatible with the Bible, and that he would prefer the companionship of Ken Miller and Eugenie Scott over that of Phillip Johnson or William Dembski. Theistic evolutionists like Collins are unclean. They are not secular enough. They don’t understand science. Any remnant of Christian faith is a profession of “profoundly anti-science beliefs.” People like this leave room for God (even eensy weensy teeny tiny corners in their world view for God to get involved). That’s not atheistic enough. The critics that Nature and Science quoted sound like a Who’s Who of God-haters: Dawkins the campaigning atheist, and Myers the foul-mouthed blasphemer among them. Eugenie Scott and the...
Cameron is much like a RINO; just after power but not promising much change from Labour's big spending and political correctness. Check out Peter Hitchens' articles on why Britons should not vote Tory and entrench "moderate" policies.
Obamov wilfully misunderstands Logic 101. An atom is light, so an elephant composed of atoms is light. Ice cream is tasty, steak is tasty, therefore ice cream on steak is tasty. Some parts of Health Reform are liked, therefore the whole package should be liked.

Obamov promised that he would fund his program by getting rid of fraud, waste and abuse. So here's an idea: propose a bill just doing that—then the GOP won't be the party of "no".

Why not offer the GOP some concessions, which should hardly be unreasonable, such as allowing people to buy coverage across state lines?

Ranked voting and rank politics

But Australia calls it by the sensible descriptive name "preferential voting". It prevents the moronic anomaly of spoilers hurting those closest politically to the spoiler (Perot and Bush I, Nader and alGore). It also prevents what we see in primaries: popular positions attract more candidates, which split the vote, so a representative of a less popular viewpoint wins more than any other *individual*. That's basically how RINO McLame got the nod.
