Why should an innocent police officer be put to trial?

As he always does, Mr. Sowell hit the nail on the head. The black culture must do the changing. The police tactics work in reducing crime. Some black criminals will get killed in the process. Now you know!

Progressivism Kills

I agree with this commentary in its entirety. It is fact based. The lack of intellectual acumen on the part of the black "leadership" as to cause and effect is appalling. The obvious bias against everything the police do supports lawlessness. The President, Attorney General, and their best friend the tax cheat, super liar, race baiter Al Sharpton and now Mayor DeBlasio only encourages more lawlessness. Reform of the black community, the black culture, the black predominance of criminal activity is what has to change. It will not happen with the current "leadership" leading the black Americans the wrong way. Now You know!
Mayor deBlasio: Pull the cops out of the ghetto and let them self destruct. You promised! Come on now. Do it.
The protesters got what they chanted for the past few months. The cops who were killed were innocent of any wrong doing whatsoever. Yet they were killed at the behest of the Al Sharpton march. President Obama and Eric Holder are guilty too for encouraging black folks to follow the likes of Sharpton. The top two "law enforcement" people in our Federal Government promoted lawlessness. They have no shame in befriending the low life past of Sharpton. He is a criminal and now so are they. Now you know!

Is Law Optional?

This is a very fair and straight forward piece by Mr. Sowell. I was one who made many arrests and had to employ force in many of them. What people must come to understand that the police must win on the street. If they are in error that can be made plain later in a court of law. Then, any action can be done by the independent judiciary. The grand jury system is a filter against overzealous prosecution officials. It is made up of laymen from the affected community which is intended to mirror and represent the citizenry at large. That is as far as justice can get in a free society. The protests are now in a phase of anarchy and chaos where nobody involved knows what they want or if a change is needed. Mob rule is showing itself at it's worst. The mob participants should be ashamed of themselves but they don't have any shame.
It is ok to lie as long as you are glib?
One does not have to worry about lying under oath with the Current President and Attorney General in office. It has been declared not a crime because lying is not recognized as bad or illegal in this administration. It is what you have to do to get your way so there is nothing wrong with it. One needs a moral foundation to recognize a lie as bad. This administration has shown on many occasions that it is devoid of such a foundation. Once you lie it takes another lie to explain it. The truth needs no such explanation. Gruber told lies in the beginning and now must tell more lies in an attempt to avoid being called a liar for all eternity. Now you know!

The Democrats position on every issue is couched in a political framework. Truth is a distant concern.
