Jesica Santillan was a 17 year old immigrant that had 2 heart-lung transplants. She had 2 because Duke Medical Center put the wrong blood type set into her. 2 weeks later they tried to reverse their error. She died a few days after the second transplant. Much of her expenses came from a charity called Jésica's Hope Chest that was set up by a native Texan who had started a home building business near Raleigh. The article said they had moved here from Mexico 3 years ago and called them immigrants. The word “illegal” wasn’t mentioned. She died in 2003.
Ana Puente was waiting on her 4th in Apr. 2008.
Isodoro Jiminez was waiting for a heart in 2004. The news stories I read were all doubtful he would receive the organ in time to save...

A suggestion for the do-nothings....
Take your 3rd grade education, your 300lb wife, your 1/2 dozen guns, 12 children and 4 good teeth and move to Texas already. Enjoy life in your new independent state. Just don't let the tumbleweeds hit your butt on the way out of the USA

Don't send them to Texas. (well the guns and and the kids are all right)Just keep them there in California. Y'all are going to drop off into the ocean soon anyways.

Interesting you bring up BC/BS as positive examples. They allow their providers 18 months to submit charges. 18 months is deemed reasonable. I ask my 88 year old mother, “did you have a gallbladder function test 14 months ago?” Her reply; “I love you too, dear.”
She had been dead for 16 months when I called BC/BS and asked why statements kept showing up. Not charging my mother, just letting her know the bill had been paid. Services provided by a facility she had not lived in for almost 2 years. Letting her know they had paid companies that had no staff to answer their listed number or an answering machine to return calls about charges. One number to request services and another to ask questions. One number answered and one number...
The key point in this story is that there are 2 sides to the story. It also shows that both sides have to be listened to before you can have an informed opinion. It's almost as if you were considered innocent until proven guilty! Did everyone catch that? But what about people who self medicate? Are they still just drug addicts? Isn't physiological pain as real as physical pain? Could more be accomplished if drug war money was spent on treatment? Complicated questions. Straight forward point though. Every story has at least 2 sides.
So one of the colors of our flag stands for communism? The color which denotes republican states means they are already communist states? You can't even make the conservative practice squad. You'll be our cannon fodder, one of our shock troops. You will set the standard (shockingly low) and we will take advantage of being completely and totally underestimated by the left. They’ll look at you and say, “How did we lose to them?” They won’t have lost to you, they’ll have lost to us!
Living in Hell in a blue state
Right! Even the 'Liberal' Republican Rhinos won't touch this disaster.
I just keep getting flashbacks to childhood, when Jimmy Carter told us to turn off the heat one very cold winter...
Us kids thought it was the end of America.
Kinda like now!

Wrong again.
He said turn it down, not off. Big difference. So are you a liar or are you stupid? I’ll give you an easy way out. We’ll just say something bad happened to you that year and you repress the memory by saying you had no heat that winter. And now, just like then, you predict the end of America. You repress again. You believe one man can destroy/ruin/break the United States. Luckily real Americans don’t listen to or believe people...
Good one ann. You are saying that it would be easier and cheaper to get insurance after you lose your job. And even though you developed diabetes when you had insurance, and now you after you lost your job you can’t get insurance for one simple reason. The same reason you open your mouth to spew trash. For the money. The insurance companies lose money on a diabetic. Duh! The only reason any US insurance company has ever gone down the tube is because they under funded or tried to be mortgage brokers. And before you say anything about the current mortgage crisis, they (the mortgages) failed because they were not insured. They have tables with centuries of statistical data. And the odds they use make a pawn shop's interest rate look OK....

The answers to all of the questions in this story can be found online. The real questions, not ones about communists having the ear of the president, etc. The things he wondered aloud about on Tuesday are. Instead of wondering, maybe he should read. You care about Apollo but won’t google it. Plenty of info for those who support or oppose. The key is “plenty of info”. Besides, since Glen says Obama is at best a socialist, why does it matter if Jones has his ear? Glen Beck is an entertainer. George Will is a conservative op-ed/journalist. Learn the difference. Learn which one asks pertinent questions. American Idol has more viewers than Glen. You going to listen to Paula or Simon? Think about it. Glen Beck is the most cutting and...

The difference between Hawaiian birth certificates is for the purpose of proving you are an indigenes, native Hawaiian (think proving tribal membership to get part of the profits of a casino). There are certain perks to being in this category. The state officials in Hawaii know more about the births that occur than if not all, the vast majority of states. If your heritage is not in question, ie you make no claim about being native Hawaiian, they use the short forms. The idea that the state officials don’t know their own system is a farce. State and federal laws only allow parties with a valid need to see the records to have access. No one in the federal government is saying President Obama has no birth certificate from Hawaii. The...

In 2000, a group of citizens are suing the Census over the questions on the long form - a form sent to one out of every six households. Though the 2000 log form is 18 questions shorter than the long form in 1990, and the shortest since the 1940 census, distrust of the Census Bureau's ability to keep the data private have many people up in arms about the questions. The suit challenges the ability of the census to ask all of the questions asked. The biggest problem for the suit is the Constitution itself: "[The Census] shall be made ... in such Manner as [Congress] shall by Law direct." The questions on the long form are there because of legislation duly enacted into law by the Congress and signed by the President. Though the ire of...
