Why Republicans Are to Blame for the Fiscal Cliff

while your heart is in the right place and you are correct, the best thing is for Republicans to just vote present and let Obama have all the tax hikes and spending he wants. It was clear from the last election the children blame Republicans. It's a PR war and we need to make Obama own it. Just let him have what he wants, things will go to hell even more so and he can't escape blame as long as Repubs don't obstruct. It will get worse but maybe a tough love is in order.

I disagree John, that we should let Obama have his way on taxes and spending.

There are two better solutions. First is to use the House's power of the purse, and only fund the government that's needed. If Reid's senate doesn't pass it or Obama vetos it, then Democrats shut down government, and government checks stop or are only partial payments.

Second, don't vote to raise the debt ceiling. This forces Obama/Geither to choose who gets their checks or partial payments.

My prediction - RINOs will cave because the like the spending, and don't care to cut it.
America is about to plunge over the so-called fiscal cliff -- and Americans are fighting mad about it. According to the latest polls, 77 percent of Americans believe that the fiscal cliff -- a combination of automatic tax increases and spending cuts set to kick in at the beginning of 2013 -- will hurt them personally. A full 70 percent of Americans want a compromise solution. And 67 percent believe that political leaders will act like "spoiled children."

Most important, though, Americans blame Republicans for the situation. While just 34 percent of Americans blame President Obama for the current fiscal cliff...
