Excellent observation,DL, and accurate. America, was always the model, that other countries tried to emulate. Now,Obama, with his Saul Alinsky, and Marxist, mentality, is trying to emulate the old Russia. Go figure.

You need fences to keep people in, and you need to lie, as the LSM does, by omission and spin. Or, perhaps, you can run a small island in shark infested waters and guard the beaches so small boats and planes cannot leave. It simply is a failure, yet it is being sold to our kids in college.

Obama plays mr. cool and modern, but Communism is a failed and out-dated way of governing. But Putin has intentions of retaining power, and Russia is still suffering because the population was taught to be very very sneaky, under Communism.
One thing Russia has is that Putin allows exploitation of oil resources, while Obama keeps them off limits on acreage he continually is increasing. Petroleum is fueling Russian prosperity.
