Chries, clearly your confusion stems from the fact that you are part of such a small and oppressed minority. I think.

Georgetwin_in_PA. Wrote: (10:40 AM) "Just like telling folks to avoid Vine Street in Scranton." Why not make it easy and avoid Scranton altogether? About the best ever to happen to Scranton will occur in 2273, when, according to James Blish, it will leave the Earth entirely, taking its slag heaps with it. Carrying with it press-ganged workers (i.e., slaves) and eventually going entirely rogue.

My thoughts exactly. However, a public entity is in gross violation of the first amendment by doing so, which, apart from the absurdity of compiling such a list, is Adams' point, I think.

Well, on the premise of "it takes one to know one", yes he does.
Huh? Sony bought Microsoft?
I saw the writing on the wall for my motherland almost 30 years ago, and finally left for good in 1989. I haven't been back there since 1999 and have no real intention of doing so any time soon.
Marsha, you may not be advocating sterilization, but your progeny law proposal smacks of Chinese totalitarianism. Also, allowing only those who pass your means test to have only two children would result in a massive decline in the population, which is hardly desirable. Not to mentionhorrifically elitist. Who is to say whether another person is a fit parent based on mental acuity and financial worth? I can think of many fine parents who are both poor and dumb. There is however one progeny law I could potentially support: any person receiving any form of governemntal aid should be barred from having children.
Wormtongue was way too smart to be Reid.
Note that Sauron and Saruman were, in the end, dismal failures too. BTW, who would Wormtongue and Gollum be?
However, there is further reason for a cheesehead celebration: One of the less well-publicized reasons for the recall was an attempt to overturn the recent redistricting plan signed by Gov. Walker. Not only are the left on a bad losing streak at the polls under current WI districting, but they are going to get hammered next year.
