George - Thank you for your reply. I am if you were to look at the whole spectrum something of a cross between a JFK / Scoop Jackson sort of liberal with a cross of libertarianism on social issues (with perhaps a bit of deep ecologist thrown in). I do not consider myself a leftist. When I think of leftist, I think Marx, Lenin, Castro. When I think of the 1930's, I think of ultra rightist types like Hitler, Mussolini, Franco. Actually I think that political beliefs are more complicated than a two dimesional spectrum would allow. As a case in point, libertarians exist well at both ends of the traditional polictial spectrum, but they don't really agree on much except they wish to be left to their own devices.
