All political events reflect poorly on "liberalism" around here - just like all economic events argue for more tax cuts.

No, I do not fawn over Soros and Obama. I actually don't know much, or care much, about George Soros. I do, however, know enough to enjoy irony when I read it. And accusing Soros of being a communist sympathizer is highly ironic.

If you believe in free markets and freedom, than a very rich man can do what he pleases with his money. Right?

Also, Soros did some tremendously important and good work in Eastern Europe with his Open Soceity. Really it was precisely the sort of thing most townhall readers should praise.

So why the hatred?

Discretionary Non-Defense Spending is 17% of the Federal Budget. The idea that government waste has an impact on the deficit is laughable. Its a trivial amount. Its probably less than the DOD spends on gasoline.

Ah, ignorance ...sigh... Soros promoted freedom and government accountability in Eastern Europe. He spent tens, probably hundreds of millions of dollars on this very worthy task.

Far from promoting Communism, he did more transform ex-communist countries into democracies than any other *single person* in the world.

Oh please let there be a populist conservative revolt in the Republican party. Remeber: Conservatism can never fail, it can only be failed.

Conservatives shocked - shocked! - by over-reach of the executive branch, by a Democrat. When it was a Republican, all was well. Does even the author take himself seriously?
