Because it is hard for them to part with their wealth like the super wealthy who support democrats, not because it was not good to create it in the first place like Republicans. Parables and old testament demonstrate repeatedly both points. And tax collectors were the worst sinners of all. it is always interesting to see secular anti Christians to instruct folks on their religion.

Look at the story of Matthew who was a tax collector too. When one compares his earthly
wealth, which is " cankered" as with inflation, to eternal life, it's no contest.

I’ve written about the negative relationship between government spending and economic performance, but most of my focus is on “macro” issues such as the overall diversion of resources from the productive sector to government.

This leads to the misallocation of labor and capital, I’ve explained, which means the economy isn’t as efficient and living standards stagnate.

But, with the exception of some posts about the
