The supernatural spiritual institution of holy matrimony pre-dates the fall of man and the evil of death. God Himself ordained the spiritual institution of marriage and enjoined its Vows between Himself and mankind. Marriage is good. Death is evil. Both marriage and death are spiritual events. Marriage is filled with life. Death is loss, emptiness, darkness, oblivion. Life itself in this moment is more spiritual than material. Some have the eyes to see it and some don't. Some have the ears to hear it and some don't. Jesus of Nazareth said, "Let the dead bury the dead. Follow me."

A lot of cultural commentators are confused these days. They believe that people’s views on same sex marriage are solely a reflection of their religious beliefs. Nothing could be further from the truth. Actually, some things could be further from the truth – like saying that Al Sharpton has integrity or that Dan Savage has class. But you get the point.
