Wooster, what does regulating the border have to do with putting an arbitrary cap on the qty of immigrants?

Buck O, that's completely different than setting some arbitrary cap on the number of people that can immigrate into this country. Please stay on topic.

Here's what I don't understand about the good professor. He knows central planning fails. It always fails. And yet I don't understand why he believes the government should be in the business of deciding what the "right amount" of immigration is. It goes against everything he teaches as an economist. He should be advocating building a wall around the welfare state, not the country.

Many durable goods are built in the US -- windows for houses, earth movers and other large construction equipment, airplanes etc... non-durable goods like clothing and many electronics are too expensive to build here, so they're built elsewhere.

You say the 1st Amendment has limits, but can you point it out to me in the text of the Amendment? Additionally, what if the theater is on fire?

Do Gun Control Laws Control Guns?

Gun control advocates ignore that criminals, by their very nature, don't care about laws. It's why Prohibition didn't work, why the "War on Drugs" hasn't worked, and why stricter gun control won't work.

The way out the gov't will likely take (in lieu of default) will be to inflate away the debt, similar to how Germany destroyed their currency to pay off reparations for WWI
