Something "unbelievably sordid" - and evil is going on. The use of public funds for this sort of thing is just one aspect of how it is reprehensible. Your position suggests that you tolerate such activities. That means the secular progressive movement which fosters these kinds of things has desensitized you to them. That in turn enables them to take it to the next level. They have been masters of this over the years. It starts out seemingly innocent or minor in nature and eventually winds up with "The New Normal". It's a dirt road we really don't want to be on, but are at the moment; and many wonder how we got there. It is a real problem.

I think the time has come for a line item veto in higher education. The people of North Carolina are being bankrupted by higher education spending that is simply not academic in nature. The problem was once confined to UNC’s flagship campus in Chapel Hill. But now it has spread like a cancer throughout the entire UNC system.
