Bridget. I learned about oral sex a long time before I'd ever heard of Bill CLinton.

Let me provide a more realistic scenario. If a slave had his hand mangled and deformed on a regular basis and the slave owner tatooed his initials into the slave's hand, would you be shocked if the slave cut it off?

If you are making the claim, then you have to prove it. YOu know that. SAying it is "logical" doesn't mean anythign at all in this case. Here is one reason why: Even granting your entire premise, you have to prove that a one time spike in cortisol acts hte same as long erm stress. And then you have to prove the spike is high enough to retard conception: all your cortisol info shows is that it effects miscarriage frequency AFTER conception.

Anonimus reveals the truth. He brings up the issue of false accusations of rape, claiming that is what Akin referred to. Its just a hop skip and a jump to concluding, if AKin is even partly right, that if a woman becomes pregnantt it couldn't have been rape. See how clever....no woman who is pregnant can claim she was pregnant due to rape...because that's impossible. Ergo, no access to abortifacients. You could get abortifacients if you didn't need them, but because you need them, you can't have them. ANy woman who would vote for a Republican must be crazy.

Finding a study linking cortisol and rape would be your responsibility.

And even if your analogy were not completely ludicrous, that would up to teh individual in question.

You cannot assume any of the things you assume here. I did try to google the study you referenced, but it doesn't show up. So be a dear boy and provide the cite. You cannot assume anything about orgasm during rape. And if the data you provide is accurate, the difference you list sint' as significant as you pretend. It cetainly doesn't tell you that women wont'get pregnant during rape, only that they are more likely to get pregnant at other times.

It would be a leap of faith. The one thing unstated is whether a one time fluctuation of cortisol functions the same as a long term fluctuation. You simply cannot assume its the same. A one term applicaiton of tequila to your liver is quite different than a lifetime of drinking margaritas.
