So you know the motive of the robber was to murder the manager? You have no idea if he saved his life. When someone with a gun is looking for money you give it to them, especially if it's not your money. Our "hero" could have caused the robber to start shooting just as easily as scare him away. If he had gotten them all killed you wouldn't have even written about it because it doesn't fit your narrative.
