Just think, John McCain was the GOP standard bearer against Obummer. He is certainly a RINO. It is time these got out of the way and let the TRUE conservatives lead the party. In every case where a moderate was the GOP candidate, they have lost!

McCain used to be somewhat of a conservative (seems like he had about a 92% rating for conservative voting at some point in time), but thirty years of huffing the D.C. glue cloud has rotted his brain, as with many others.

John3637, we need to change the language, starting now. RINOs are not 'moderate' and Tea Party conservatives are not 'extreme' or 'fringe'. The TP are the mainstream moderates, and our country is currently be governed by a minority of Left wing extremists and their useful idiot RINO power freaks.

For about a week now we've been hearing that the Gang of 8 isn't interested in allowing amendments to be added to its new illegal immigration reform overhaul. A piece in POLITICO further points to this being true. As a reminder, the Gang of 8 bill was crafted behind closed doors.

After being locked out of the process for so long, Democratic and Republican senators are anxious to get a crack at amending the bill, setting up a treacherous path through the Judiciary Committee to the Senate floor that threatens to undermine the delicate compromise.
